Agriculture in the Classroom programs are implemented by state-operated programs. National Agriculture in the Classroom supports state programs by providing a network that seeks to improve agricultural literacy — awareness, knowledge, and appreciation — among PreK-12 teachers and their students. Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) programs seek to improve student achievement by applying authentic, agricultural-based content as the context to teach core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts, and nutrition. By encouraging teachers to embed agriculture into their classrooms, AITC cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the food and fiber system that we all rely on every day. AITC is unique within the agricultural education community as the lead organization to serve the full spectrum of K-12 formal education.
GrowNextGen brings agriculture science to the classroom by providing real-world educational tools to engage the next-generation workforce. Backed by funding from the Ohio Soybean Council and Ohio soybean farmers, GrowNextGen helps expose students to different career fields in a thriving industry.
EducationProjects.org was founded by two veteran teachers with a deep desire to inspire students. An unprompted conversation with an agriculture industry executive who wanted consumers to understand more about their business was the spark that started the company. The executive wanted to know “how can we use soybeans to help students understand the science of modern farming?”— the resulting brainstorm of ideas launched our company!
Twenty years later, their work starts with the needs of industry and moves into the classroom. Because of their educational backgrounds, they understand teachers’ needs and how to connect those needs to industry. They work to drive industry workforce development while supporting teachers as they guide students’ growth and career awareness. They are teachers, and love supporting teachers through industry partnerships.
SNI Global aims to provide unmatched value to members and the industry as the scientific organization leading the way in soy and health research, education, outreach, and advocacy. SNI Global strives to be a leader in plant protein research and outreach, with an added focus on soybean oil.
The versatile chemical composition of soybeans is driving a surge of soy technology. When processed, soybeans are divided into protein and oil. Soybean protein is primarily used in animal feed, but is also an ingredient in plastic composites, synthetic fiber, paper coatings and formaldehyde-free adhesives.
The Soyfoods Council is an affiliate of the Iowa Soybean Association. The mission of The Soyfoods Council is to serve as a catalyst, leader, and facilitator to mainstream soy-based foods into the global marketplace—America and beyond. To mainstream soyfoods: to build the category of soyfoods products by making action-prompting connections between edible soybean growers and food producers, foods distributors, chefs, retailers and eventually consumers.
